Sara Vaassen
LVT
Sara received her Veterinary Technician degree from Blue Ridge Community College in 2009 and has been working at the Pet Clinic ever since. Sara is a native of Franklin County and greatly enjoys working with people and their pets.
Daniela Hilton
LVT
Daniela has been working for the Pet Clinic since 1998. She received her veterinary technician education at Becker College in MA and has worked in several small animal and emergency clinics in her career. Danielle has a caring heart and always puts her animal patients first.
Dacia Oprisanu
DVM
Graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Practiced in Texas and Florida before moving to Virginia in 2017.
Danielle Reece
DVM
Dr. Reece received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2015.
Anna Richardson
DVM
Dr. Anna Richardson grew up in Franklin County and attended Ferrum College, where she received a degree in Animal Science. Dr. Richardson graduated from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 and moved back home to start her veterinary career. She has a special interest in equine medicine and has expanded our veterinary services to include ambulatory equine preventative care.
Andrew Rothschild
DVM
Dr. Andrew Rothschild graduated from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 with a focus on exotic medicine and surgery. He attended Clemson University for his undergraduate studies and received a degree in Animal Science before attending veterinary school. Dr. Rothschild spent his first year after graduating from veterinary school working in a small animal and exotic practice in Maryland, where he gained extensive experience with exotic pets.
Eric Lorens
DVM
Dr. Eric Lorens has owned the Pet Clinic of Rocky Mount since 2003. He graduated from The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 1992 and moved back to his childhood home in Reston, VA. He worked for 11 years in small animal veterinary hospitals and emergency clinics in northern Virginia. He and his wife Kathy missed Southwest Virginia from their time in Blacksburg and were excited when an opportunity became available to become the new practice owners of the Pet Clinic in Rocky Mount.
Dr. Lorens enjoys developing a personal relationship with his clients and patients. He has a particularly strong interest in surgery and has helped many patients over the years with the wide range of surgical services that he is able to offer. He also works closely with local animal rescue groups and enjoys being able to see what a difference good care makes for these neediest patients. Dr. Lorens sees primarily dogs and cats but has seen quite a variety of patients over his career including ferrets, birds, rabbits, rats, snakes, sugar gliders, lizards, goats, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and many types of wildlife.
